In the field of arbitration, we succesfully represented a US Company against a Mexican Grower that breached an exclusive distribution agreement, obtaining an award for over $400,000 US Dollars.

In another case, we succesfully defended a Mexican corporation in a Joint Venture Dispute in which Claimant was demanding punitive damages.

We have also provided services as arbitrators and mediators. Partner Alejandro Osuna is on the list of arbitrators with the Mexican Arbitration Centre and the Vienna International Arbitral Centre.

Foreign Investor vs State Arbitration

We are knowledgeable in the area of investor protection treaties. Under these international agreements, such as NAFTA's Chapter XI, Mexico has granted foreign investors and their investments broad protection against many measures that the government may take, that can have an impact against the value, or even cause a loss to the foreign investment, including, but not limited, to expropriation or measures tantamount.
